I was about to say, naaice, but then this^
Not sure what you see as springs but in any case, i am sure they are not. The red copper wire comes from an electric motor winding, same with the flat copper, just that i beat it flat with a hammer and all the silver is standard straight wire from a hobby shop... all bent together with a pair of pliers.
Maybe I will try something like this sometimes
The overall effect is very impressive, I like it alot!
